Over the years I admit that I have sort of drifted away from portrait photography.  A bit of burnout is my only excuse.  However, recently I made the decision to start doing some portraiture again.  There is a catch though.  I am not interested in doing "sit and grins".  While I am a firm believer in the photographer's adage that "beauty is in the eye of the checkbook holder" I have reached a stage in my career where I am more interested in shooting a true portrait than in just making a nice picture of someone.  What is a true portrait?  In my opinion it is one that shows something about the person.  It can be a hobby or a vocation or just an interesting idea for something "different".  Since these can be so rewarding to shoot, I am willing to waive my normal sitting fee and, if it is interesting enough, even offer a free 8X10 for a limited time.  Call me at 979-774-5501 for a quote on anything else.  Click on any of the images below to see a larger version of it.  Please bear in mind, even the larger versions are nowhere near the quality that you would see in a finished DIPics portrait.  The files are greatly compressed to enable you to view them online conveniently.
